From the Peak of Mt. Niseko Annupri !

 by Kazu

It is impossible to live on such highland but I think the landscape can refresh us so nicely and is the good place to recharge our butteries.
This is the reward to crawling up the steep hillside of th mountain. You can get the perspectives of the area. I do not want the people to flock to such sacred area for the indigenous people of Hokkaido Ainu.
The beautiful shape of Konide Mt. Yotei could be seen from the peak of Mt. Niseko Annupri. Skiing on the opposite hillside of the mountain is also refreshing you.

Last steps to the peak !

by Kazu

We were enjoying the last run to the peak of Mt. Niseko Annupri. No more steep slope to crawl up could not be seen between the peak and us.

The peak of Mt. Niseko Annupri is a little bit higher than that of Mt. Iwaonupri. So we could see the peak of Mt. Iwaonupri could be seen from the hillside of Mt. Niseko Annupri.
It seemed that the trail to the peak was paved with rocks but it might be tough to lay the rocks like this. Is it the natural rocks that have been there ?

From another world !

 by Kazu

It seemed that we were near the peak of Mt. Iwaonupri. The landscape of the hollows was getting vague with the drape of clouds around the peak.
As you may know, bamboo grasses are so strong that they can cover  the hillsides of mountains with higher peaks even on the island of north end of Japan.
Can you see the peak of the mountain and the building near the peak ? We were surprised at the ski gelande on the opposite side of the mountain.

To the peak 3 !

by Kazu

The trail to the sky seemed to be getting tougher as we stepped forward but the scenery was getting nicer and something different.
What we call "the skyline" from the plain was getting closer to the horizon as we were getting higher.
The snow left on the peaks and hillsides made the landscape look like a marble rock on the ground. What do you imagine when you see such landscape ?

To the peak 2 !

by Kazu

The upper hillside of Mt. Niseko Annupri was covered with rocks. It seemed to be so hard for plants to take roots this area. But some parts of the surface were covered with plants peculiar to highland.
Looking back the trail we crawled up, I felt continuing to step forward is so important for us human beings. "Continuing means power", I thought.
The landscape from the peak of the mountain was so nice and refreshed us. Lower peaks of mountains around there could be seen clearly but the horizon was vague.

To the Peak !

by Kazu

The trail was getting steeper than the lower area and wider area of could be seen from the hillside of Mt. Iwaonupri. The perspective of the area was getting clear.
The sleepy hollow produces quality fruits and crops. I recognized again the amazing grace and the efforts exerted to develop the area.
The air was so clean and energized us so nicely. So was and did the scenery from the hillside of the mountain. The air was getting colder and solider. Have you experienced the privilege ?

Mt. Niseko Annupri 5 !

 by Kazu

In case of emergency, our cell. phones would play the role of saver but we use them mainly as cameras during our trekking to the peak.
The trail was well-maintained for the beginning of spring. The pressured tree trunks were bent by heavy snow.
I carried her belongings including extra drinks because they were too heavy for her while trekking. When she needs water, I hand her  a bottle of water. Talking the talk, walking the walk.

Mt. Niseko Annupri 4 !

by Kazu

looking back the lowland from the hillside of Mt. Niseko Annupri, we recognized how far we were away from the entrance of the trail to the peak of the mountain.
It seemed to start raining but I believed that we would be able to see the blue sky and the sea of clouds from the peak.
The peak of the mountain could be seen from the trail on the hillside. The slope was not steep at this point. My wife seemed to be remembering our trekking with our friend Norm and her past mom.

Mt. Niseko Annupri 3!

by Kazu

The trail to the peak of Mt. Niseko Annupri was surrounded by tall bamboo grasses strong enough to keep themselves green even in winter.
The skyline was vague with fog and clouds. Even from the hillside of Mt. Niseko Annupri, blue sky could not be seen on that day. The ground of the trail was so ragged that we should step forward carefully.
My wife had planned the trekking on that day but she seemed to  be so tired of the pilgrimage on the trail. It will take one hour and half to reach the peak.  Deities !

Mt. Niseko Annupri 2 !

 by Kazu

This is the trail to the peak of Mt. Niseko Annupri. The entrance of the trail is in front of the parking lot. White snow was left at the entrance of the trail and on the path.
The branches of trees were on the way to the deeper area of the forest. Heavy snow fall bent the branches and seemed to hide the trail.
It was getting cloudy and I felt the change of the wind with humidity. The wind from the ocean made the clouds at  the peak of the mountain and brought rainfall on the hillside.
